Following hard on the Atlanta show, NYIGF must be hoping for the continued pattern of busy and order writing shows to continue into next week and beyond. We’ve seen the same revival in the UK this year with encouraging and focused retail buying particularly in the design led independent retail sector.
This year NYIGF has 2,800+ exhibiting companies featuring an extraordinary breadth and depth of design-driven home fashion products and complementary gifts. Some 35,000 attendees from all 50 US states and more than 85 countries worldwide are expected to enjoy, the newly integrated Gourmet Housewares Show along with the new product focused “neighbourhoods” that this year’s NYIGF offers.
In the General Gift division, a new “On Trend “ neighbourhood has been created and the existing “Stationery & Publishing” neighbourhood has been extended. On Trend includes 20 design led companies, including the UK’s Wild &Wolf and Crabtree & Evelyn.
A full schedule of seminars, special events, displays and promotions are planned to support the whole marketplace, all up to the usual GLM high standard. After hours industry and networking functions include the 60th Annual Retailer Excellence Awards on August 14 and the always popular NYIGF’s “Night on Broadway” on Tuesday August 16.
