Enter for the Gift of the Year Awards 2013

The UK Giftware Association (GA) has launched its annual Gift of the Year Awards competition, as the challenge to find Britain’s hottest gift and home products for 2013 gets underway.

The new logo for the Awards, pictured here, has been produced in one of the hottest colours for next year, eye-catching turquoise, while the headline sponsor has also been announced. Exhibitions organiser i2i Events Group is once more onboard and already played host to the opening of Awards entries during Autumn Fair at the start of September.

The 2012 Gift of the Year winners made their final appearance as a group on The GA stand at Autumn Fair where the competition’s ‘Judge’s Choice’ category winner – Monster Factory – exhibited its prize-winning VW Camper Van tent on the free stand it won in the Awards.

For GA member companies entry fees for the 2013 Awards are £35 for one item and £25 for each subsequent item, while non-members pay £45 for one item and £35 for each item thereafter.

“As any previous winner will confirm the entry fee is an extremely small price to pay for the tremendous dividends to be reaped from taking part in this competition. Winning or being highly commended really does bring fame and increased fortune, but even those who fail to make the shortlist have an unprecedented opportunity to bring their product and their company to the attention of some of the industry’s top retailers, as our judging panel reads like a ‘Who’s Who’ of great gift and home outlets,” says the competition’s organiser, Mandy Wilkins of the GA.

“We know that many retailers pick up purchasing ideas having seen products displayed on the Gift of the Year at the various shows where they exhibited and the chance to win a free stand at Autumn Fair is a terrific additional bonus,” adds Mandy. “It’s a complete no-brainer – companies have nothing to lose by entering and a huge amount to gain. We simply cannot stress enough the added prestige, promotional opportunities and chance of additional sales that winning can bring.”
