New team makes PR affordable for home and gift companies

The two best known publicists in the home and gift industry have joined forces to create Britain’s most potent public relations team.

Charlotte Cowell and Alan Monahan will provide businesses with a competitive and cost-effective PR package designed to raise company profiles, increase brand awareness and publicise products to both trade and consumers.

Charlotte and Alan offer a unique range of journalistic skills and experience through their work for Spring and Autumn Fair organiser i2i Events Group, The Giftware Association, and a host of giftware, homeware and greeting card companies.

Their contacts in the industry are unparalleled and their comprehensive press list encompasses everything from trade publications across 12 sectors to national media (including TV, radio, broadsheets, tabloids and magazines) blogs and extensive social networks.

Charlotte is a former editor of Toys ‘n’ Playthings, Greetings Today and Art Buyer magazines and has specialised in online marketing and social media strategies, while Alan – who publicised Radio 1 and Radio 2 and was also the BBC’s chief information officer – has edited both Gifts Today and Picture Business.

Cowell and Monahan will tailor-make individual, carefully targeted campaigns for clients, geared to whether they require short-term or long-term publicity for their ranges or one-off product launches. They can also introduce overseas suppliers to the UK, helping them to gain a foothold in one of the world’s most lucrative and prestigious markets, or assist British suppliers with overseas expansion and brand-building exercises.

Using their special relationships with editors and advertisement managers of trade magazines they will write and place editorial material and negotiate the best-possible ad rates. Stories will also be targeted at appropriate websites, with social media employed to maximise coverage and product awareness.
