Clinton Lewin returns to retail with iCandy

icandyFormer Clinton Cards MD Clinton Lewin has opened two independent greetings card outlets under his new iCandy fascia, with five more stores on the cards for early this year and more to come in the near future.

Former Clinton Cards merchandising manager Peter Lumsden is director of the new venture.

The larger of the two stores is located on a former Clinton Cards site in Hatfield, which still includes some of the original Clinton’s fixtures and fittings but has a fresh new product selection.

Lewin said that the fixtures were retained in order to get the stores up and running as quickly as possible, but intends to upgrade the store to a more contemporary look and feel over this year.

With help from UK Greetings as planning publisher, iCandy is filled with some of the best in contemporary card and wrap design from the like of Five Dollar Shake, Icon, Tracks, Wendy Jones Blackett, Deva Designs, Penny Kennedy and Bitter and Twisted.

Carte Blanche Group’s Me to You and Boofle Bears from UKG, plus Bright Side and Waldo Pancake branded collections from Really Good are mainstays of the gift collections on offer.

The focus is on more premium products, with the value end of the market left for Card Factory to clean up.

Technology provider MICROS has supplied iCandy with Cloud POS, a pay-as-you-go Software as a Service, in which the entire application can be run from a browser or a tablet.
