Get Christmas sending off to a flying start on Festive Friday!

festive fridayThe Greeting Card Association has launched a Festive Friday initiative designed to bring the greeting card industry together and kick-start the Christmas sending season in style.

Friday 29 November is the day when members of the industry are being urged to get ahead of the game by sending out their Christmas cards nice and early, with the aim of having: “A sparkly snowstorm of lovely Christmas cards dropping through the nation’s letter-boxes on the first day of December and getting everyone in the festive Christmas card sending mood!”

Everyone with a connection to cards is being encouraged to get involved – publishers, suppliers, retailers and all their staff – by sending Christmas cards to friends and family on Festive Friday. With 100,000 people working directly and indirectly in this industry, together we have huge potential to really get things moving.

Publishers and other business owners are requested to provide their staff with cards to send – or at the very least cost price products – in order to make it as easy as possible for them to send the maximum number of cards to friends and family. To really get in the festive spirit, companies and individuals are also being invited to dress up in their favourite Christmas jumper and post their pictures onto the GCA Facebook page.

Recent scientific research revealed at the GCA Annual General Meeting demonstrated what cardies have known for years – that the sending and receiving of cards makes people feel cared for and happier, to the extent that they can even help to fend off depression. So just follow the easy steps to do your bit for our industry and the emotional health of the nation!
