Launch into design-led stationery

The London Stationery Show, which was sold to Ocean Media Group in autumn 2016, has set up a LaunchPad competition for companies that want to break into the design-led stationery market.

The Show, which takes place from April 25 – 26 at the Business Design Centre, Islington, is asking entrants to fill-out an online entry form and send product samples or supporting materials for consideration. The judges aim to find 12 winners they can present during the exhibition.

Ocean Media Group COO and London Stationery Show director, Tim Willoughby, said: “This is an exciting and dynamic time for the stationery sector and I’m pleased we are able to support up and coming designers and companies in this way.”

Meanwhile pen specialist Sheaffer has signed up to sponsor National Stationery Week for the seventh year running.

The brand has been involved with the annual event since 2012, backing the ‘Writing Matters’ campaign from its inception and is at the forefront of the writing instruments market with their innovative and eye-catching product range.

World Stationery Day, which always occurs on the Wednesday of National Stationery Week, will be of particular interest to the world-renowned brand, which started out in Connecticut, USA, in 1913.

Nicola Shepherd, Trade Marketing Director at Sheaffer, says: “The campaign continues to grow whilst yielding bigger and better results. We’re proud to be an integral part of that and we have big plans for 2017 that will excite stationery addicts across the globe.”

National Stationery Week celebrates the written word and all things stationery, encouraging people across the world to continue to celebrate the art of writing by hand. The global stationery market is forecast to be worth up to $226.2 bn by 2020.
