Don’t miss the most exciting showUP of the season this September!

Taking place between Sunday 1 and Monday 2 September 2019, Expo Haarlemmermeer in Amsterdam will be home to showUP, one of the most exciting retail trade events taking place in Europe, but still quite under the radar for many Brits. If it’s genuine ‘newness’ and out of the box inspiration you’re seeking, this up and coming event is unmissable.

The design-led product focus at showUP inludes the key sectors of homeware, gifts and kids products, offering an outstanding opportunity for buyers to source the most up-to-the minute and trend-setting collections, whilst networking with colleagues from the hottest stores in Europe.

showUP is well-known amongst regular visitors for its great mix of exhibitors, with established names and brand-new labels exhibiting side by side. There are guaranteed to be numerous new brands from The Netherlands and beyond that you will only see at showUP. For forward-thinking lifestyle retailers and concept stores it offers the ideal environment to source special new items to help attract shoppers onto the high street.

The exhibition is divided up into well-organised and easy to navigate zones. Fabulous contemporary products for kids and babies can be found in the growUP section, while startUP@showUP will provide a launch platform for talented young designers. Also not to be missed are the cutting-edge trend update presentations and feature installation by buro jantrendman.

listenUP is the lecture programme in which experts and trend-watchers share their knowledge and insights on all the current topics and developments. Among the new presenters on the programme are Trend Forecasters Hanneke Kamphuis and Marly Witteveen. Both have a background in retail and design, and will be talking about botanical lifestyle trends.

Helping home and gift retailers to take their shops to the next level is The Store, where the dedicated showUP team will demonstrate how you can apply a single theme to a store’s concept, styling and collection. The theme this year is Decor & Design. Prints and patterns in all shapes and sizes will be presented, with all of the products featured available to buy from showUP exhibitors.

Danish Design meets the Dutch at showUP. More and more overseas brands are finding their way to the exhibition and this year is no exception, with a remarkable number of Scandinavian brands registering for the autumn edition, including: OYOY (pictured above) , Monica Petersen and Vifa Copenhagen. They will be presenting alongside Dutch brands such as Agatha Amsterdam, Stoned Marble and Llimited Tableware.

UPcycle // ZERO waste will once again be an important theme at showUP, befitting for a parent nation which for long has had some of the strongest eco-friendly credentials in the world. Many labels are committed to sustainable design through recycling, mindful production practices, or creating products that encourage sustainable behaviour. UPcycle // ZERO waste was launched at the spring edition of showUP in February, and will once again be a prominent feature at the exhibition in September. Ten ‘conscious brands’ will demonstrate that sustainable production and consumption is the way of the future, leading to the design of great products that are sure to be of interest to many shops.

The colourful Ba Hoe installation by Ulrike Jurklies (mo man tai) will also be on display at showUP in September, where visitors will be treated to an eye-catching welcome at the entrance with digitally printed eco-fabrics in bright colours. The Ba Hoe Lounge is a spectacular 13-metre-long wall with matching seating elements in a variety of colours and geometric shapes.

Open from September 1-2 2019, the opening hours of showUP will be 10.00 am – 6.00 pm on both days. The location of Expo Haarlemmermeer, Vijfhuizen, Netherlands, is conveniently close to Schipol AMS airport and easily accessible by both car and public transport.
