JewelFund winner Photofinish Jewellery to showcase at BCTF

Surrey jewellery designer David Hitchcock will soon be making his way to the Yorkshire Event Centre in Harrogate where he will make his debut at the British Craft Trade Fair (BCTF).

Speaking about life as a designer-maker and what the future holds, David said:

“Having worked in nature conservation for 25 years supporting scientists researching and helping to save species from whales to wasps, gazelles to gorillas it gives me great pleasure to bring this passion to my unique, vibrant botanical jewellery. My pieces feature leaves, flowers, and butterflies made using images transposed onto recycled anodised aluminium. Favourite places for inspiration are the stunning Surrey Hills and idyllic islands such as Tresco, Isles of Scilly.

“Currently I supply leading galleries and recently had my work showcased with the National Trust. We were delighted to have been chosen as this year’s winner of the JewelFund from the Jewellery Academy, Hatton Garden. This was a great follow up to being recognised by Dragons Den Theo Paphitis with a Small Business Sunday award the previous year.

“I’m excited to be showcasing at BCTF, the show which brings the best of British makers together under one roof. I will be introducing a new collection of colourful autumn maple leaves as with their enormous variety and stunning colours they are always a favourite with my customers and stockists. Come and find us and say hi at Stand P19.

“With my background it’s important to me to have a small impact on the environment. My jewellery is made from recycled aluminium and to supplied in FSC certified boxes. Celebrating nature at its best!”

BCTF is the largest and most well-established event of its kind, focusing exclusively on high quality, British made artisan products across categories which include handmade ceramics, porcelain, fashion accessories and jewellery, glass, metalwork, woodwork, textiles, greetings cards and fine art.
