Top Drawer works with Trend Bible for new season trend forecasting

Top Drawer is excited to be working closely again with official trend partner, Trend Bible. Trend Bible is an authority on home interior and lifestyle trends, working with many key brands and retailers in the UK and USA. Trend Bible forecast design and colour trends up to two years ahead of the season, producing trend forecasting books that sell in over 18 countries and work on bespoke consultancy projects for clients such as TK Maxx, Asda, and Graham and Brown.

This September at Top Drawer, Trend Bible will be on hand to share their expertise on the trends for the seasons ahead with you. Director Joanna Feeley explains below the importance of trends to retailers and what you can expect to see at the show. Don’t forget to take away your free trend booklet to help you buy smarter for the seasons ahead…“I’m often asked why trends are so important for retailers and my reply is that good trend forecasting certainly isn’t about jumping on every trend that comes along.” explains Trend Bible Creative Director, Joanna Feeley. “I believe that brands and retailers that know their target customer, and that have a strong brand character or ‘handwriting’ can tap into key seasonal trends and make them their own. Just because a trend seems to be big in the press, doesn’t mean it’s necessarily going to be right for your company, so often what you choose not to do can be just as important in terms of developing a product range.”

Trend Bible forecast lifestyle trends for brands and retailers in over 15 countries, publishing biannual trend manuals for buyers and designers and providing bespoke consultancy to clients in the UK and USA. Trend Bible are well known for taking a no-nonsense approach to trend forecasting, communicating inspiring colour and design trends in a simple, straightforward way designed to maximise commercial performance. “Essentially, good trend forecasting should impact your bottom line, help you raise your profile and create exciting product ranges,” explains Joanna. “If you’re clued-up about future trends, you can ensure you put the right products in front of your customers at the right time, it’s really an effective way to minimise risk, and tap into how your target customer will be thinking, feeling and ultimately shopping.”

The Trend Bible team aim to bring a range of trend forecasting tools to Top Drawer this season, covering consumer behaviour directions, colour and design directions for Spring Summer 2012. You can access trend information in various ways including seminars, a free trend guide hand-out, and inspiring trend features to help you shop the look right here at the show. “We’re all for taking the mystery and complexity out of trend forecasting. It should be straightforward and easy to execute, so we’re looking forward to sharing our top tips with the Top Drawer audience for the second season running.
