Artist and designer Daryl Slaton, creator of the wonderful Tails of Whimsy, is one of over 300 art licensing individuals and agencies participating in Surtex, due to take place from May 19 – 21 at the Jacob K Javits Center, New York.
Daryl Slaton is a multimedia artist with a long list of commercial clients. He has created works for Fortune 500 companies and theme parks (and small companies, too). He is now focusing on whimsical creations for licensing and for archival art prints.
Daryl originally launched Tails of Whimsy as a site devoted to whimsical animal art. It has expanded to include Holiday art, State Santas, Everyday art, The Whimsical World of Wispenwood and other themes.
Surtex showcases artists, designers, studios, agents and licensing firms selling and licensing art and design for a multitude of product end-uses: decorative fabrics, linens and domestics, contract textiles, wall coverings, floor coverings, apparel textiles, stationery, greeting cards, gift wrap and other paper products, tabletop, giftware, toys, ceramics, packaging and publishing.
New for the 2013 show is Atelier, where talented textile design studios from around the world will sell their most trend-forward surface designs to a multitude of product categories. Arranged in an intimate, yet open floor plan, the Atelier is for a broad range of manufacturers – interior textiles, fashion fabrics, wall coverings, paper, and more – seeking the latest prints, patterns, repeats, documents, and design services for product development needs.
Surtex is co-located with the National Stationery Show, International Contemporary Furniture Fair and Creative & Lifestyle Arts,
